DETROIT COUNTRY MUSIC: Detroit Country Music has become the premier agency for country-flavored acts in the Motor City through its founder/photographer/publicity coordinator Larry Garcia.

On Sunday night, singer-songwriter
Jill Jack and former Tangerine Trousers drummer Michael Hacala will host an appreciation party honoring DCM on its fifth anniversary with a special show at Memphis Smoke in Royal Oak.

They’re inviting all solo artists to come over, bring a guitar, and play a few songs. A complete back line of guitar amps, bass amp and drum kit will be on stage. The jam sign-up starts at
7:30 p.m., with music running 8-11 p.m.

Meanwhile, Detroit Country Music comes to the Emerald Theatre in
Mount Clemens for a Good Ole Country Shindig benefit for Toys for Tots on Nov. 10. Entertainment will be provided by Jill Jack, Redhill, the Forbes Brothers, Terrie Lea and the Mustangs, and Joseph James. Tickets are $7 plus one unwrapped toy.
