It was a cool quiet Sunday night in Royal Oak, Until about 8:30pm.. That is when Jill Jack, after taking nearly the whole summer off to relax and regenerate, thrilled many of her friends and fans with a visit to Memphis Smoke. Jill was fresh with a new doo (a whole family event it turned out) and a new attitude. Jill has begun a series of "Unplugged" Concerts. Backed by Billy, Gary, Ron and David, Jill delivered what has to be my favorite performance I have seen to date. Showing more spirit and even a bit more Country, she went flawlessly from Willie Nelson to Bob Seger without skipping a beat. Thanks to Mark Stevens from WCXI Radio who stopped out and became an INSTANT J-J Fan. Jill ended her first set with my personal favorite, a very unique version of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "MY FAVORITE THINGS". Who else could turn a 60 second song you remember as a child to a full blown 12 minute rendition that warms you up and sticks with you like honey and molasses?
