THE HUMMINGBIRDS Buzzing around Southeastern Michigan since the Spring of 2003, The Hummingbirds have performed their style of twang-filled country Americana music in festivals, bars, showcases, and live radio broadcasts. You can expect a mix of memorable melodies and sugar sweet harmonies when you listen to this unique "electro-coustic" duo. "We get alot of our inspiration from old-school country music from the 50's and 60's," says Stephen Wood, the band's Telecaster twangman. "Nobody does it like Loretta Lynn or George Jones anymore. There's so much great country music that's lost to this generation. We're just trying to incorporate that sound into what we do as The Hummingbirds." With the hauntingly beautiful vocals of Rachel Lynn, along with her rock steady rhythm guitar work they have certainly hit the mark. The birds are both accomplished songwriters in their own right, but have banded together to collaborate on many of the songs featured on their first full length CD scheduled for release in July 2005. From the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville to Memphis Smoke in Royal Oak, Michigan, The Hummimgbirds have been making new friends and fans wherever they perform. Are you ready to catch their buzz? |

DCM Review Well the first time I heard Stephen and Rachel sing, I thought they as a duo were pretty incredible. I love the almost haunting harmonies and incredible musical timing. Add to Stephen and Rachel a few ex-trousers and some steel guitar and this group becomes a formidable force to recon with in country music. |
